Fics like You Don't Get It

“I just don't see what the problem is.” Obelix furrows his brow, tilting his head slightly sideways as he attempts to accurately read his best friend's expression. There's something there he's never seen before, a dark shadow lingering behind Asterix’ normally bright eyes that he can't seem to decipher. In fact, the more he thinks about it the less sense it makes—the more it confuses him. He wants to reach out and so he follows the whim, a gentleness to his touch that is generally only reserved for Asterix. He hesitates which is another oddity, but makes contact nonetheless—except it’s not accepted. With an irritated huff, Asterix shrugs the comforting hand off and the inherent fondness in Obelix’ chest hardens. “Of course you wouldn’t,” Asterix scoffs. “You don’t see anything, do you?” “Oh, I don’t see anything, huh?”
