The revolution for android rights began before Cyberlife could officially roll out their new RK800 prototype for a trial run with local law enforcement. While the rebel group, Jericho, struggles to achieve equal rights for androids, they have come to a standstill. Local and federal governments are slow to act and pass laws, and general distrust of androids pushes them out of the workforce in droves. As peaceful demonstrations and public pleas for action on both sides become more frequent, so does a series of violent crimes targeting androids. So when a young rookie cop, Connor Stern, comes from left field and rockets through the ranks at the Detroit Police Department, they partner him with the disgraced Lieutenant Hank Anderson to learn the ropes of being a detective through investigation of the property damage reports they are receiving en masse. Hank is left with no other choice other than to take the prodigious and suspiciously well put-together kid under his wing as Connor drags him from crime scene to crime scene with an unusual urgency.
