Fics like bedside manner

He holds up a pair of fancy looking handcuffs, broken in half with the wires inside ripped apart and still firing off sparks. He dangles them in front of him like a small kid, looking guilty of all things. “I kind of broke this on accident. Well, it was on purpose, actually. But it also looks kind of expensive, so I’m real sorry about that…” He pauses, blinking. “Uh, what’s going on in here?” “I’m getting sucked dry,” John deadpans. *** The team is split up, John is about to get his guts rearranged (not in a good way), and Bob is being held hostage. Well… that last part’s debatable.
