Fics like Contingency Plans

"What's on your mind, Rog?" Roger huffed, having stopped stirring and now checking on another pan. "Ed is sending me on a trip, even though I'd made it clear to him that I'd rather not travel this month. He says he understands, he's been through it himself, but the work is inherently unpredictable, blah blah blah." Aisha gave a chuckle. They were now facing each other. Roger turned around to grab a glass, which he filled with water at the sink. He tilted the glass towards Aisha, but she waved him off. "Well," she said, "the baby is due any day, but we're both doing fine. Your sister, Chelsea, and Chloe can help me out." Roger left the glass on the counter and hugged her. "I don't want to be the father who's not there in the important moments." Aisha smoothed the corners of the lapels on his crisp work shirt. "You're not that." ((For the Angstpril prompt “hiding their pain”. For the Fluff Bingo prompt “goodbye kiss”.))
