Fics like What We Save

After the fall of the Burial Mounds, Wei Wuxian trades his freedom for the lives of the Wen refugees and one small child. In the quiet of Gusu, under Lan Wangji’s steadfast care, grief slowly softens into hope. Together, they learn that healing is not forgetting — and that sometimes, what we save saves us in return. AU of if Lan Wangji managed to bring the Yiling Laozu into his care instead of him dying at the Burial Mounds. Dark and Fluffy themes both.
