Fics like Unworthy, Unprepared, and Unwilling to Lay Down and Die

A modern man wakes up in a cart with his hands bound, and instantly recognises both his surroundings and the fact that, given where he's seated, he's due to embark on a wildly dangerous adventure in just a few short minutes. Given he has even less combat knowledge than this world's average teenager probably would, this could prove hazardous to his health. A self-insert fic in which the author overthinks magic, the Thu'um, and how best to translate a video game world into something not constrained by levels and systems. Canon compliance will be attempted, but only to the extent that the author actually knows it (which is not much). Update: between posting chapters 10 and 11, the author has had a trans realisation. This will also happen to the self-insert, it has been decided.
