Fics like The Fifth Founder

Godric Gryffindor was only looking for the perfect location to build Hogwarts - the unusually powerful wizard living nearby is just a bonus. But as the founders evaluate this "Emrys" for a teaching position at their new school, they gradually discover the truth about who he really is. Featuring a wizard's duel, a test of wisdom, the balance of life and death, and the one founder who managed to figure out Merlin's identity all on his own.
