Fics like An Anchor For My Soul (The Slowly Setting Sun)

Seven years ago, Lance went missing. The Garrison informs them of this a week after his disappearance. Under the guise of military confidentiality, they're given hardly any details about the event. All they know is that Lance had snuck out one night, got into a fight with some personnel dealing with some top secret mission, and then promptly vanished. Just like that, seven years pass. Lance turns eighteen, then nineteen, then twenty, and then they stop counting. At twenty four, he comes home. Or: Seven years after leaving Earth, Lance comes home, but there's a part of him still left in space.
