Kayava Academy -- a small school known for its mix of students, ranging from the smallest slugcats to the lankiest scavengers. Watcher, a rather shy and asocial slugcat, is finally returning for 9th grade. Their friends are all here still -- Survivor, Hunter, Monk -- and they're just as excited to reunite with their old friend as Watcher is. Always the observant one, however, Watcher can tell something isn't quite right. That something is going to change the school -- no, the entire town -- and not for the better.
