Buck thinks everything is in slow motion. It feels like it takes forever for him to reach out and take it, but time seems to speed back up when their fingers brush, just slightly, during the exchange. He breathes in a little too sharply and nods at him, like, yes, an idiot, and his mouth is moving before he can stop it. “Uh, yes, yeah, thank you.” ...or, Buck’s an elementary school teacher. Eddie’s the hot firefighter that visits his school for a fire safety assembly. He is so normal about it. Seriously. Just ask his coworkers.
