Fics like Steel Meets Fate

A tie-in to the When Legends Meet, part of the Fantasies of Speed sub-series. Set during Final Fantasy XIII Chapter 11 and Sonic x Shadow Generations. When a blue breach tears open the skies above the Archylte Steppe, reality fractures, and from its depths emerges Metal Overlord: a towering, sentient war machine unlike anything Cocoon or Pulse has ever known. Declaring himself the King of All Creation, this cold, calculating terror has arrived with one purpose: to conquer a world it sees as ripe for the taking. Lightning Farron and her allies are thrown into a battle beyond comprehension. Metal Overlord doesn't just overpower; he adapts, evolves, and copies, turning their own magic and bonds into weapons against them. As the tide turns against them, salvation arrives in an unlikely form: Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform, armed with his Doom Power abilities and a score of his own to settle. Originally completed on 2nd April 2025. This is now the revised edition — featuring a prologue and epilogue, expanded and reworked chapters, and updated content — and was completed on 4th June 2026.
