Sherlock wasn't sure exactly what to expect from a letter from his soldier boyfriend overseas, but he knew that he was slightly afraid of it. He was afraid this letter would make him worse, that it would make him feel more alone. The letter could do that. Or, it could make him feel better. That was worse. Was that worse? To feel better with John gone? Was it better to not feel like he couldn't breathe with John so far away? Was that truly worse? Sherlock wasn't sure.
