Fics like Of crabs, princes and soccer fields

After that doomed match between Japan and Germany, Kaltz and Schneider join Wakabayashi for a short stay in Nankatsu. The relationship between the Hamburg trio seems to have strengthened again, particularly between two of its members, but someone is plotting in the shadows. "Karl admits it, Genzo has a way when he decides to voice thoughts instead of grunting. Not like him, who is able to mess up even the simplest issues and has the uncanny, enviable ability to always and unfailingly choose the wrong word for every fucking sentence. For Karl, that set of words, whispered in a half-voice from a hospital bed, following a match that had turned into a carnage before his eyes, had been like – literally – the coming true of a dream (or the awakening from a long nightmare). What could life have possibly offered him better?"
