Fics like good old-fashioned lover boy

Picking up the pot, Gaara straightens, letting Naruto get a better view of the cactus. It’s green, plump, with flat pads speckled with clusters of tiny spines. “What’s that for?" “Oh.” He looks somewhat uncomfortable—it’s comfortingly familiar. One of the Five Classic Gaara Expressions that Naruto has come to memorize; a step below the elusive half-smile. “It’s for you.” Naruto stares at it, then glances back up at him, searching for some kind of indication as to what the esteemed Kazekage is doing here on a random afternoon with a random cactus for him. He reaches no conclusion. The first cactus makes sense. The ones that follow... Well, Naruto's trying to figure that out.
