Fics like Home is where the heart is

The toys were not supposed to play favorites, though it was inevitable that there would be those they got along with more than others. They just had to be subtle about it. It was no secret that the Playcare’s CatNap had a favorite. A quiet, docile child, with absolutely no special attributes except their ability to sneak up on people. A child known known among the toys, staff, and other kids as the purple critter’s best-friend. But then came the day you were chosen by a family and had to leave. They didn’t even give you time to say goodbye to everyone, much less your friend. All you could do was leave with a promise to a certain feline that you’d be back one day. And now, eight years after the incident, ten since you left, you return only to find so few of your friends still remain.
