Fics like I Absolve You

Marked by the sins of his father—and his own failure to defend the city from pestilent demons—Fermín Castañon is the most hated man in Santaver. To atone, the ex-soldier picks up his sword to slay the demonic dragon living on the nearby peak. Instead of a monster in the ancient mountain, he finds Valerius, a demon-fighting dragon from a bygone era who takes the form of a man. Unconcerned with the city’s opinions, Valerius grows closer and closer to the beautiful, lonesome soldier. But as their love deepens, and Fermín becomes pregnant with the dragon’s child, the demonic forces that have tortured the city for centuries seem to gain strength. Fermín hunts for answers among Santaver’s powerful families, the ruins of the empire Valerius knew, and his own disgraced past, but he might not be able to protect the city that never accepted him, or have the loving family he’s always wanted. *Updated with an extra chapter*
