“What’s going on?” Jisung asks. Chan doesn’t bother with pleasantries. He and Jisung keep in touch well enough through an ongoing text thread that he knows about the concept of Jisung’s upcoming album, the U.S. tour at the end of the year, that there is no one significant in Jisung’s life aside from the elderly neighbor that occasionally feeds his cat, Nana, and foists confusing baked goods like zucchini bread on him. So, when Chan calls, he gets straight to business. “I want to talk to you about an interview.” “An interview.” The word feels uncomfortable on Jisung’s tongue. It sticks in his throat, causes it to constrict. Silence stretches between them before Chan admits, “Well, a little more than an interview. A docuseries, of sorts.” (It’s been ten years since Jisung lost Minho and Stray Kids. Now, they’re telling the story.)
