Fics like let the fire burn

Vanitas swallowed hard. “That’s—” He tried to scoff, to sound unaffected, but his voice betrayed him, rasping and weak. “That’s enough, Noé.” Noé didn’t move. He was still too close, still watching him too carefully. And then, slowly, he reached out, fingers curling around Vanitas’ wrist. Vanitas should have pulled away. Should have said something sharp and cruel to put space between them. But he didn’t. Instead, he let Noé’s grip tighten, let himself be drawn back in as Noé shifted closer, his breath warm against Vanitas’ lips. His heart slammed against his ribs, every nerve in his body screaming at him to run—because this was dangerous. This was something he couldn’t take back.
