It’s been two weeks since Wesley Weston joined the team, and although Valerie Gray did in fact get fired, things have settled into a sort of uneasy routine. She's been training as hard as she can, but Danny in particular isn't yet willing to let her fight alone if he can help it. It's almost stifling. For as much as she understands his drive to keep her safe, and as much as she gets that she's got a lot of improvement still to do, part of her still can't help but feel angry and smothered by the attention and concern. Still, things are looking up in almost every other way, and their relationship is otherwise healthier than it ever was before all this. Naturally, that's when one of Danny's most dangerous enemies comes to visit the twin cities. Given everything that's changed since the last time he saw Valerie, he's all too interested in making her a new offer of employment, whether the team thinks she should be anywhere near him or not.
