Fics like She Remembers The Figs But Not Who She Should Be

“Marcus, I’m so sorry I went out, I shouldn’t have, but the walls were getting so close and the trees were right there and- and I- I didn’t think, I didn’t mean- and I’m sorry and it’s not enough-” In which she is her but also someone else, and Her memories are many and painful and her memories so few and her mind very small and Her memories so big. The smell of him painting lingers in the abandoned studio but not forever, it disappears and the dust settles, because he never goes back, not until after the day she does. Her figs are rotten and she'll never plant new ones because it hurts too much, but apples seem as lovely and less poisonous, so maybe he can find her the ones that smell best.
