Fics like It Would Have Been Nice To Have Unicorns

In Act I Scene I of The Merchant of Venice, the character Antonio says the following: “I hold the world but as the world, Gratiano; A stage where every man must play a part, And mine a sad one.” Except this is a manga rather than a stage, I’m not a man, and the Narrative would prefer it if I didn’t play a part at all. Unfortunately, it seems like we’re both out of luck there. Or: A fanfic writer gets isekai’d into Dr. Stone…but gets deposited in America with Xeno and company rather than Senku. Not only that, but the rules of this new reality seem different than the world they left behind.
