Fics like I Love You Never Felt Like Any Blessing

Death still followed her, but it wouldn’t dare touch her. Danger no longer haunted her, instead it courted her, a golden pair of eyes keeping watch over her as she walked home in the dark. She found comfort in the shadows that stalked her around every corner. Sometimes she felt that she herself was one of those shadows, that she belonged to the darkness. And didn’t she? Elena’s soulmate killed her. Her friends brought her back, but things are different now than they were before. She’s not the same girl that died in her soulmate’s arms, but that doesn’t stop her from running back into them when he finds her alive. Klaus realised that Elena was his soulmate as her body fell, lifeless, in his arms. Fortunately, the odds conspired to give him a second chance. This time, he won’t let her fall.
