Fics like sunk costs

Everyone will say, later, that she used to be a sweet kid. They’ll say the rot set in at Aguefort, maybe, when the stakes got too high, when the pressure mounted, when her temper (always her temper) finally got the better of her. They’ll say, perhaps, that she was infected by someone older, someone who should have known better, Jace Stardiamond, or Porter Cliffbreaker, or the long dead goddess whose rage burned in her veins, or neglected by her parents or her counsellor or any of the sensible, reasonable adults who should have been taking care of her, who should have seen this coming. These things will be true, but they are not the whole truth. The truth is that for Kipperlilly Copperkettle, it started young. Or: sometimes an adventuring party is a suicide pact you don't know you're making.
