Fics like Heaven’s Immeasurable Secrets

“Your Majesty should know—after I returned, every moment spent near you, every time I touched you…I felt so disgusted, nothing could compare. Concubine Ning felt the same.” Emperor Yongzheng cries for guards who won’t come, all now under her command or deposed like Xia if foolishly still under his. He has naught to worry, however—his favorite Noble Consort Xi will continue being right by His Majesty’s side, giving him the needed ginseng soup, and reminding him that allowing his anger to build will not benefit his Heavenly body. (Or, the internal thoughts of Zhen Huan as well as her confrontation with Si Lang in the final two episodes of Empresses in the Palace. Character and relationship study. Girlboss elements. Kinda angsty but also empowering...in a way. I think.)
