Fics like smoke break

Ruby had a routine for the restaurants she worked on. Get in on time, do her work, enjoy her smoke break and leave. Nowhere in that list said ‘grow a soft spot for the resident sassy blonde’ or ‘make sure to take her break at the very same time often enough so said blonde could know when to meet her’ or even ‘make out on the walk-in pantry’. And yet. Yet there Ruby was, leaning on the bricked wall by the recently cleaned dumpsters and wondering why every moment in her life culminated into this. (Ruby and Nicole's relationship told by four moments in the past and one in the present.)
