Fics like like a dog-less bone

Outside, Tokyo’s early evening traffic thrums with urgency beneath heavy rain, and he knows if he trained his ear, he’d hear the city alive regardless with chatter and music. If he trained his nose, he’d smell the thickening, humid weather, the bay, the heady smells of gyoza and Takoyaki and tempura, cooking in spitting oil, but he doesn’t. No, what he does is keep looking at Lestat and thinking – not for the first time – that this has been a mistake. Thinks he has stayed too long here in Japan, even if it’s been just shy of two weeks. - It's been 18 months since they reunited, Lestat's on the cusp of fame, Louis' trying to be companion enough for himself, they're both a mess, but they both still want each other all the same.
