Fics like The Chronicles of Asalyn 1: The Sun Heir

Seventy five years have passed since the War of the Ember. From the shadows of the Pure Ones' destruction, a new totalitarian regime took the Southern Kingdoms by storm, installing itself as their 'protectors' - a regime known as the Free Kingdom of Ambala. The future seems grim, with the Guardians of Ga'Hoole sizzling away to become mere footnotes in history against this threat. But the ruthless leader of this kingdom, Tarolyn Straux, after years of ruling with an iron talon, is growing old. Now, the future of Ambala - and the Southern Kingdoms as they see fit - lay on the hatching of a single owl. One that would be born in a solar eclipse, and be ready to rule this kingdom spanning the southern hemisphere without hesitation to enforce total control. The name of this owl would be Asalyn Straux. The book cover for this story, present in the first chapter, was drawn by Bubopeli!
