Fics like the feelings got lost in my lungs (they're burning, i'd rather be numb)

Coughing and gasping for air, Leon put tremendous effort into not blacking out–both from the shit he’d sucked into his lungs and bouncing his head off the dirt when the shockwave from the blast toppled him. When he felt a pair of hands grasp him by his holster straps and pull him away from the crater the greenhouse had left behind, he pawed weakly for the knife strapped to his thigh, but then he heard a familiar voice–albeit distorted by a respirator mask: “Hey, Leon–it’s okay. We’re here to help.” Chris Redfield. Golden boy of the BSAA, knight in shining armor, and Leon’s hopeless crush, which had been going on for so long now that it was old enough to get a driver’s license. (Or the first hanahaki disease + Nivannedyfield fic. :D)
