Fics like To Rip the Nails Out of the Past

"Come on, honey, I got you." Sodapop murmured, holding Ponyboy protectively. "It was just a nightmare, you're safe." Ponyboy sobbed as he turned and leaned into Sodapop. "So-" Sodapop immediately shushed him. Normally that would have annoyed Ponyboy, and it did, but a bolt of lightning flashed through the sky and another loud boom of thunder followed nearly immediately. It had almost sounded like a never ending roll that took a bit to disappear. Ponyboy was sobbing all over again, and panicking and trying to get away from anything constricting. All he could think about was being held underwater. It seemed to be all that he could think about whenever a storm came through now. Or, or, the one where a particularly bad rain storm rolls over Tulsa on the same night that a particularly nasty nightmare brings Ponyboy back to the night that he nearly died. Thankfully, and unfortunately, his brothers have become quite good at helping Ponyboy through both issues. Title from | Blown Away | by | Carrie Underwood |
