Fics like Q vs Annual Leave Legislation

Seen multiple stories recently where it's assumed that sick leave and annual leave (ie paid vacations) for MI6 can be blithely cancelled, unlike the actual situation in the UK civil service where, if your staff don't take their full leave entitlement each year, you as a manager are failing. And sick leave is a right, not a privilege. So when I saw the prompt inspiring some of these, 'Q is denied leave so fakes amnesia' - I ended up writing the story of how might the leave being denied happen, as to a Brit, that's the more implausible bit!
