Fics like i might be dreaming

Curt wakes up to rhythmic beeping, fluorescent lights that burn white-hot rows into his retinas, and the most beautiful man he’s ever seen sitting beside his bed. “Woah,” Curt slurs. His tongue sits heavy in his mouth, and the way the light blurs his eyes would be distracting if he could focus in the first place. He feels weird: sort of fuzzy, sort of floaty, definitely out of it. He should be freaking out. For some reason, the man sitting by his bedside makes him feel like he doesn’t need to: even about the needle in the back of one hand, which Curt would really like to not be there. - Emergence from anaesthesia has its upsides when it means that you get to meet your husband for the first time twice.
