Fics like Tenseness

Before the ghosts of Christmas visit Ebenezer Scrooge, the miser must face a significant conflict with the daughter of his former business partner. Arabella Marley, a young woman now orphaned, spends her days cooking and avoiding marriage. Still in her twenties, she yearns for freedom, but unlike her father, she possesses a generous heart that drives her to help those in need. It is precisely at Christmas when everything changes. Arabella witnesses the terrible illness of Bob Cratchit’s son and decides to cover his work hours so that he can take the child to the doctor. This steadfast decision by the young woman not only gives Mr. Scrooge a massive headache but also creates a tremendous tension between the two of them—a tension that, despite their mutual reservations, seems to have only one simple resolution.
