Fics like it isn't fair and it isn't right (to lead you on like it's all alright)

Daniel didn’t know the history of the bath, but he probably would someday. One day, his curiosity would get the better of him and he’d go digging to find the fossilised pieces of Armand’s past and start putting them together like palaeontologists do with dinosaur bones. And like them he wouldn’t get it right first try but it’s not like he would stop trying. And the narrative where Armand was upset by the bath made more sense. The actual fact, that Armand was sure of, was that he could have gone through with the bath and given Daniel no clues at all about any of his prior experiences if Daniel hadn’t asked Armand to affirm that he wanted it. That had been the distressing part. * OR: Daniel treats Armand nicely enough that Armand starts wondering if the way people treated him in the past wasn't good enough.
