Fics like The Sky Was Too Wide

For six years, the world has watched A-list actress Beatrice Young and Ava Silva, the wild child of Arq-Tech, fall in and out of love. Their sweet gestures break the internet. Their sudden separations and fights break hearts everywhere. But it's all fake. Beatrice has perfected the art of Beatrice Young, her public persona. Beatrice Young is a woman of colour who has managed to stay relevant despite the double standards she faces in Hollywood. Whenever public discourse threatens to shift on her, she calls in Ava Silva, with her charming rebellious attitude, for a staged date. Each adorable display of public affection puts Beatrice back in the public's good graces just in time for her latest role, while Ava uses Beatrice's straight-laced character to distract the board at Arq-Tech from her own public mishaps. Beatrice doesn't have time to date, and keeps her industry friends far away from her family. She knows a real relationship with Ava would lead to nothing but trouble, but when a family emergency forces Beatrice to take Ava home to her grandparents, she has to reckon with the truth of their ruse.
