Fics like How the Zeus Stole Solstice

Continuing to glance around the party space at all the familiar influential faces, Percy noticed a few people notably missing. “Why aren’t the president and vice president-elect here?” Percy asked, his tone hushed. “I thought you might kill them, and I simply didn’t want to take that chance,” his dad said, matching his tone. “Wise choice.” Percy wouldn’t have killed them, simply taken his sword out and demonstrated its use a few times. The secret service would have hated that, and pulled guns, and Poseidon would try to drown them. It would not have been a successful solstice. - or - It's the Winter Solstice on Olympus! A time for celebrations, partying, and ... meetings to determine whether or not the world will still exist in the new year? What could go wrong?
