Fics like Rising Shadows

So, while I was asleep, or dead one of the two, I had a dream. In that dream some guy gave me a character creator and said go crazy. I don’t know who the fuck let’s someone make a new body for their new life while loopy as hell and not thinking right, but they’re a dick. There was a small bit of recognition when I stared out across the dark room with innumerable old shells of bugs long dead. I even recognized the large eggs that were laying around amongst them even though I only ever saw one before. It didn’t help me much if I’m to be honest. It also doesn’t help that everything about my body feels wrong. I found the closest and smallest place I could to hide away. The silence was deafening. The solitude was crushing. I hid in a crack in the wall that was barely big enough for my new horns to fit in. I don’t know how long I was there, my mind was still reeling from everything that had happened. Then I heard the call from the Pale Light and the cracking of chitin striking stone replaced the prior silence.
