Fics like Not a Trope in Hell

"𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝘁. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲... 𝗜... 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁... 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘁." Damon Salvatore doesn't believe in romance. Especially not the type of romance that novelist Elena Gilbert writes about. Stalkers? Bodyguards? Office rivals? Puh-leeze! Determined to prove to her that cheesy tropes aren't the way to a woman's heart, he acts out everything she's written... but will he lose his own heart in the process? Extract: "This is your chance. Run." Elena crossed her arms. "No. I'm not scared of him." Damon glared at her impatiently. "Fine. If you won't run from him, then run from me." "Excuse me?" "Here's another one of your tropes: I catch you, I kiss you." "That's not the trope! It's supposed to be 'I catch you, I...'" Elena cleared her throat and paraphrased, "'... ravish you.'" The corner of his lip quirked. "'Ravish'?" "Shut up, I'm just correcting you." He stepped closer, his eyes burning into her. "Do you want an upgrade? Because I'm down for that if you are." "I don't even want the kiss!" His eyes widened. "Then... run."
