Fics like Soldier’s Home (My Mind Is Still in War)

The Ode of Resurrection can save the souls of fallen soldiers, but not their minds. Kinich had long since learned as a champion of the Night Warden Wars that, despite claiming victory and dining at a feast, the Night Kingdom never truly leaves you. Its hooks sink into your brain, preparing to feast on what little vulnerability is shown to claim your soul. For Kinich, vulnerability is never an option, and so he tackles the repercussions of his inner turmoil alone. But when on a camping trip with both Mualani and Kachina, the onslaught of nightmares can not be suppressed as it wages on in his mind like a never ending cycle until he wakes up. Yet what of the times when waking up can’t save him and the vulnerability locked away is forced to be shown? Or Kinich has undiagnosed PTSD and Mualani and Kachina help him calm down from a panic attack.
