Fics like Shoot Me and Play With My Blood

Street acted prematurely, sprung to quick into action and the guy nearly got away. Street was supposed to be resting at his and Luca's places. He got put on a temporary break after the last mission's plan went south; he had to reflect on his actions and what he did wrong. Now that punishment turned into something more serious, and the team wished they could have done something to prevent this. Maybe Hondo should have just let the kid come back instead of sending him home. or... After Street let his emotions get in the way and messed up a mission, he was injured and was instructed by Hondo to go home. When Cortez gets a call from the hospital that one of her officers was in the ICU while Hondo and the team were supposed to be resting, it made the team realize something wasn't right. Street was shot in his own home. The one place where he was supposed to feel safe.
