Marshall smelled like thyme and rosemary, all the spices he had been cooking with. Seth breathed deep, taking in the way his apron had absorbed the heat from the oven, making Marshall into the perfect cuddle bug. “I think I need my puppy,” Seth mumbled, his words muffled a bit with Marshall’s chest. “Huh?” Marshall said. Seth pushed back just enough, grinning up at the dopey look of confusion on Marshall’s face, the definition of a confused animal. “I think I need my puppy.”
