Fics like I Dream of our Escape

There was a strange finality in the air, the feeling weighing Chris down and pressing against his chest in a way that was making it hard to breathe. The BOW seemed to be able to sense it too as it arose from within the tank, water streaming off its scales and dripping to the floor - roaring at them as if it was throwing the gauntlet down for a fight. While the BOW screeched at them, the sound ear piercing and painful, Chris took the opportunity to see what the monster looked like. And then immediately wished he hadn’t. - They might’ve forced him to sign over his freedom. Might’ve forced him to twist and contort until he could no longer stand who he was. But they never prepared him for the agonizing pain that came with fixing the shattered pieces of who he once was. For the pain that came with being loved.
