Fics like walk ‘em like a dog

It isn’t even that she says jump, Rupert thinks with some sense of deep irony. Taggie’s too sweet to ever demand such a thing. “Only he’s not you,” Taggie whispers when it’s just them in the shelter of her domain. When he’s tried to be a shadow of the man she thinks he could be, let her go, be with a boy her own age, kind and uncomplicated. He can’t fucking breathe, and then she goes and says that, and fuck it, he’s only a man, isn’t he? Rupert jumps. Or: Taggie and Rupert leave that kitchen and figure some stuff out.
