Fics like not today

“We thought we’d celebrate,” William says, and his voice is just as shaky as his smile. Ashe furrows his brow. “Celebrate?” “Your birthday,” Vyncent says. “You definitely missed one while you were, like, possessed or whatever, so we thought we’d make up for it.” “We never got to celebrate it together,” Dakota says. “So we thought we’d have a birthday party!” Ashe splutters. “A party?” He is not ready for a fucking party, he’s never even been to one in his life, what should he wear— “Not a real party!” William interjects, like he sensed Ashe’s anxiety. “Just the four of us. We’re only calling it a party because, I don’t know, that’s what you do on birthdays, yeah?” *** After being freed from the Trickster's grasp, Ashe finds it hard to have the energy to do anything after losing a full year of his life. Luckily, the rest of the Prime Defenders have no problem dragging him out of the house and showing him how to live again.
