Fics like And In The Night, We'll Wish This Never Ends

Nicole Sanderson has always been able to handle herself—detached, sharp-tongued, ruthless, and quick to turn the tables on anyone who crosses her. But when her best friend Jecka shows up at her doorstep in the middle of the night, Nicole doesn’t hesitate to let her in. What starts as an escape for Jecka turns into a partnership where the two girls become entangled in more than just school gossip. One trashed gym later, Nicole finds herself juggling how to keep Jecka away from her abusive dad, manage her own emotions (or lack thereof), and pay off Principal Lynn to avoid expulsion just two months before graduation. Jecka, always the more grounded one focused on her grades and future, now has to decide whether her relationship with Nicole is strong enough to survive the changes that lie ahead—or if high school was the only thing holding them together. With prom around the corner, college applications looming, and no real plan for what comes next, they both must confront the uncertainty that graduation brings.
