Fics like The Gods Favor Us

The story is well known: A reckless prince of Troy steals away with the wife of a Spartan king. Many years later and many lives lost, the city of Troy would be reduced to rubble, now only a footnote in legend. A story of a pantheon of gods puppet man through avarice, lust, rage, and sorrow. A tale of heroes and villains, of well-known names like the beautiful Helen, the passionate Achilles, the most-cunning Odysseus, wise Hector, and greedy Agamemnon. Men danced around a chessboard for the gods like so many pieces. Could it be possible for men to find faith and love amidst suffering and the stifling intervention of the gods? Can man blame the folly of civilization on higher beings? Or are we to blame for our own destruction?
