Fics like Isn't this what you want to be?

Gaia has given up.... After the last fight between the Champion and The son of Calamity two years ago in the ruins of Midgar, in the end fate was just the same thing. The wound was too great for her to heal, before 'they' again offered a tempting hope. 'O Mother of Earth, we will help you once more...' said their voices. 'But we will take him, the one you took as your champion... he is the one we want... the child we want, with all the curses and praise we give him....' 'O Mother of the life and humanity... we will give you hope, and you will return to that time again. Time who's also those who are your enemies and friends... and we will be part of you again...' 'O Goddess who has been weakened and wounded... you will receive it, the power that gives healing but also becomes a disease that torments you at the same time. So protect him, protect him from us, them and himself' 'We... we are the things you threw away thousands of years ago, we are the truth that they know..'
