Fics like A Rocky Beginning

Pun intended on the title. Thanks, Blue. Rocky's puppyhood was filled with uncertainty and tragedy. After losing his dear mom and siblings to the pound, being the only one to escape capture, he couldn't survive on his own for too long, being rescued from the roadside by Ryder and Chase, barely still alive. Distrustful of humans, he won't let Ryder come even close to him. So, how did he go from that scared and wary puppy to the caring and brave rescue pup we know now? What was the first step for him to trust humans again, after having only bad experiences with them up until then?
