Fics like The Case of the Marchmont Murder

"There's only one thing we can do," I answered slowly. "We have to solve this case. And we have to do it alone." When Bertie Wells goes on holiday to Edinburgh with Harold, he plans to get away from the murders that seem to spring up around him no matter what he does. But when a journalist with a knack for finding secrets and writing stories that should stay quiet is murdered, Bertie and Harold are flung once again into the middle of a case. With the police as ready to arrest them as the real murderer, and everyone in the Craiglachie Hotel spinning lies, Harold and Bertie must race to solve the crime before anyone can uncover their own secrets or the reason they have no alibi...
