Fics like it’s not what you are, it’s just what you did

In his dreams, Curly witnesses divine conception. Anya is as immaculate as she’s always been, her dark hair like a halo that crowns her head when she tosses it back. She cries the same way he thinks Mary might’ve, and the scene is anything but holy. He is witnessing the consummation of their sins, confined by the chains of his own mortality to bear witness to the Hell that he helped create. It’s far more poetic of a retelling than what actually happens. — Anya survives her attempt. Curly is there to bear witness to the consequences.
