Fics like Anamorphosis

In an encounter with a Kaiju unlike any seen before, Jaeger pilot Daniel Cain is left dead for nearly ten minutes, until a miracle brings him back. But the ordeal has rendered him traumatized, disabled, grieving, and unable to ever enter the Drift again. Feeling a shell of his former self, he makes a name for himself in a PR campaign put on by the PPDC, until a request for something better finally gets fulfilled. In the failing L.A. Shatterdome, enigmatic Dr. Herbert West works on a secretive project with the goal of beating death—and reanimating a kaiju. When a man he’s only known through TV shows and interviews gets dumped into his lap, he braces for his projects to be derailed, only to realize that Dan could be the key to his ultimate success. — New chapter posted every week, ideally. You do NOT need detailed knowledge of Pacific Rim to read this fic—I take heavy liberties with the lore and timeline. A glossary of some terms is also provided. Other terms and details are explained throughout. Tags updated as chapters get posted!
